One of the country’s most notable names in nutrition and fitness, Mitzi Dulan, RD, America’s Nutrition Expert ® ( is an award-winning, internationally recognized registered dietitian, nutritional spokesperson, author, Pinterest influencer and certified personal trainer. With her unique blend of high energy, commitment to wellness and down-to-earth charm, Mitzi motivates people from all walks of life to take action and has inspired millions to lose weight and get fit.

Influenced by her highly engaged social media following, including 3.7 million Pinterest followers, Mitzi single-handedly modernized the one-dimensional diet plans of the past with her new, self-published book, The Pinterest Diet: How to Pin Your Way Thin (Oct. 2013). A wellness ‘jack-of-all-trades,’ Mitzi served 8 years as the team nutritionist for the Kansas City Chiefs and is currently the team nutritionist for the Kansas City Royals. Her love of sports and passion for working with athletes led to her first co-authored book, The All-Pro Diet (2009) with the NFL future Hall-of-Famer, Tony Gonzalez.

Recipe for Success

A self-proclaimed ‘tomboy,’ Mitzi grew up playing volleyball and softball. She discovered in her teens, through cooking and nutrition classes, how diet could impact the body and its physical performance. This led to her passion for nutrition and the realization that through food and fitness, she could pursue her dream to work with athletes and help others improve their health and well-being.

Mitzi earned dual B.S. degrees in Nutrition and Exercise Science from Kansas State University. Rare to find in the industry, the combined specializations have served Mitzi well, allowing for her to speak professionally on both topics. As a result of Mitzi’s collegiate experience - interning at the NBC Health & Fitness Center, serving as the first-ever sports nutrition intern at the highly competitive Olympic Training Center, completing a yearlong internship at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center and graduating cum laude in both degree programs - she was awarded the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and won Kansas State University’s Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Perseverance Pays Off

Following her dual degree, Mitzi turned down a full time job opportunity in clinical nutrition at the renowned University of California San Francisco Medical Center, and instead decided to pursue her true passion- working with people who chose to make lifestyle changes, rather than those who were prescribed it by a doctor. She paved her own way to entrepreneurial success by working part time as the hospital’s food service supervisor and convincing the UCSF Fitness Center that they needed a nutritionist. She built her business through speaking events, personal training, and nutritional counseling and served as the team nutritionist for the Golden State Warriors. In 2002, Mitzi returned to her native Kansas to embark on the next step in her career.

Social Media Stand Out

Mitzi continued her work as a nutrition entrepreneur and spokesperson when she returned to the Midwest. She spent 8 years as the nutritionist for the Kansas City Chiefs and currently works as the team nutritionist for the Kansas City Royals.  Influenced by living in San Francisco during the “dot com boom,” Mitzi stayed well-informed on media advancements and has used her website and social media channels to share her favorite tips and workouts, and post her own recipes for her clients and millions of followers.  Inspired by her loyal, engaged community, Mitzi decided to reveal her tips for harnessing the power of Pinterest for weight loss in her newest book, The Pinterest Diet: How to Pin Your Way Thin.
