The Evolution of Recipe Girl:

Trading the classroom to stay home with her son Brooks in 2006 gave Lori an opportunity to use her boundless energy to create a cooking and entertaining website. Now a trusted recipe developer for companies such as Gold Medal Flour, McCormick Spice Co., Kraft, Pepperidge Farms and Tabasco, Lori delivered her first cookbook, “The Recipe Girl Cookbook,” in April 2013. This fun and family-friendly cookbook features 195 new and innovative ideas for menus for entertaining.   Her secrets: use fresh, easy-to-find ingredients, plenty of spices and add-ins for flavor, plan ahead, and include the kids in both meal-planning and preparation. Equally comfortable in her role as hostess, Lori slips on her high heels and loves to host large dinner parties too.

And now there’s a Recipe Boy!

From the time Brooks was a baby, Lori included him in the kitchen. By age 9, he asked if he could blog too, so for his 10th birthday Lori gave him Now, at age 11, he’s learning skills in photography, editing, HTML code, recipe development and writing, and was recently hired for his first spokesperson gig.

Back in the Day:

Born in Northern California, Lori grew up spending time on her grandparents’ ranch where she watched her grandmother cook without recipes – baking fruit pies, canning jams, and roasting lamb. Her mother was the same way, making simple, family-friendly meals for Lori and her 3 siblings.

Beyond the Kitchen:

While dreaming up healthy, family-oriented recipes is her greatest passion, Lori also loves family vacations and maintaining an active lifestyle. Based in San Diego, each summer she and her family take 8 weeks to drive across country to the South Shore of Boston.  Lori talks to the locals and uncovers the best regional foods to enjoy along the way. Always on the go, Lori loves snow skiing, walks on the beach, running races and grabbing the mic at her favorite karaoke bar and singing at the top of her lungs.
