A Sneak Peek at Our New Office And Rebecca’s Inspiration Behind The Design

Rebecca has always had a vision of what she wanted her dream office to look like: a modern, quasi-industrial aesthetic punctuated by pops of color, a wall of windows with great natural light. How did she make her dream a reality? Rebecca shared the journey:

Who designed the entire space?

When we found this office space, the landlord had demoed everything, so we were able to start completely fresh, with a blank slate.  Instead of working with an architect, I decided to tackle the design myself, creating several tableau before coming up with the final layout. Armed with graph paper, Marc (Rebecca’s husband) and I sketched and planned every night for months, designing and redesigning the office. I wanted to make sure that the final layout would not only be the best use of the space, but would provide an ambiance that our team would feel good coming to every day.”

What was your inspiration/vision when creating your dream office?

“My goal was to create a space that reflected my personal aesthetic, would be modern and clean and warm and welcoming. I wanted the office to be vibrant and to be a place that inspired creativity, a calm, serene, design-conscious vibe that  would positively affect others when they walk in the door.”

What obstacles did you encounter during this process, and how did you overcome them?

“What obstacles did I not encounter? The main one was not settling, and working hard to find a space that would realize the vision. It took so long to actually find a space where I felt like we could create my vision, so when I was tempted to just land anywhere I kept reminding myself to stay true to my values and original concept. Now that we’re all settled in, I couldn’t be happier!”
