Brooks Buzz: Chasing Andrew Zimmern
When Kim Severson, one of the best food writers in the biz agreed it was time to write a profile about Andrew Zimmern (who we’ve worked with for the past 7 years), I was incredibly excited for readers to get a glimpse of who AZ truly is. While he has never been more popular, those who don’t regularly watch his shows still think of him as the bald guy who goes around eating gross food…and they couldn’t be more wrong.
There’s so much I love about this profile and it didn’t suck going with Kim and Andrew to a private Cheap Trick and Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on the water in MN – what I love most is that Kim offers an intimate portrait of a hard working human who has had serious highs and lows during his lifetime. One of my fav AZ quotes is “I always say I don’t want to be the best. I want to be the only,” and that wholly encapsulates his ethos.
