The Emmy-nominated Netflix series Chef’s Table is back with episodes focusing on the art of smoked meats, and Charleston’s own Rodney Scott has his own episode. The series starts on Wednesday, September 2.

The trailer, released on Monday, August 18, starts out with Scott tending to a whole hog with a voiceover stating, “The smoke: It gets your attention.”

Ask anyone in Charleston and beyond about Scott, and they’ll probably tell you that he smokes some of the best whole hogs in the country — his James Beard Award is a reflection of that. Scott expanded his beloved barbecue outpost in Hemingway, S.C., to Charleston in 2017, and the lines were out the door. Scott’s lace came with old favorites, like pork rinds and pulled pork, but it also came with a killer ribeye sandwich and addictive fried catfish.

Scott will be featured in episode three of the Chef’s Table: BBQ edition.
